A kind letter from Coppell

Our day today was a little brighter after hearing from a sweet sister in Coppell who had Elder Kershaw serving in her ward.

Dear Brother & Sister Kershaw,
Hello! My name is Meleece Orme and my husband Jake and I live in the Coppell Second Ward in Coppell, Texas. Elder Kershaw was the missionary assigned to our ward and I just wanted to write and tell you what an excellent missionary he was to our ward. He and Elder Rowland were the first missionary we 'd ever had assigned to just our ward, and we were spoiled because they were fantastic. It felt historic because Elder Kershaw was the first 18 year old elder we ever met. We were so impressed that he went on a mission immediately. We loved that he was a farm boy from Idaho. I was born in Preston and my husband and I grew up in Cache Valley. Elder Kershaw did have such a goodness about him. It was almost steadying just being around him, he was so strong and worked so hard in sharing his testimony and the gospel.

I was the primary secretary and the children LOVED to have Elder Kershaw and Elder Rowland come in and extend missionary challenges to them. They were so sad when Elder Kershaw was transferred  In fact, when Elder Rowland brought his new companion into primary to introduce him and have him read a scripture, before he was even done reading the scripture a child raised his hand and asked, "Where is Elder Kershaw?" Elder Rowland explained he had been transferred  Another child then called out, "When is he coming back?"
We do miss him, but are so grateful that we got to know him and for his service to us and the people in this area. Thank you for sending him and sharing him with us. We will always be grateful. He changed our lives for good, thank you.

Sincerely,
Sis. Orme
