Pictures from Texas!

Hi Allison!

I just wanted to send you a quick email (and some awful quality cell phone pictures) from your son's Thanksgiving. So I'm not sure what order the pictures are in, but there is one of him and Elder Baldes, a single one of him showing off his "ugly" tie for you. A tie in which he said "you would die over", but he thought it was funny. And he's right, it was pretty ugly. :)

There's one of our family with them and I'm so sad it's so blurry.

Also, there's a picture of a little craft the Elders made for my little family. They had left it on our door step and they were SO proud of it. They said that we were the only family they made one for, so we feel pretty special AND it is currently hanging up on our Christmas tree.

So Thanksgiving was great (at least I'm hoping it was for them). They had dinner with a part member family and then came over to Brother & Sister Murray's house (who's house is roughly the size of the Whitehouse ;) ) to say hi for a little bit. I asked Elder Kershaw how he was doing and he admitted to being a little homesick since it was his first Thanksgiving away, but Elder Baldes quickly chimed in and excitedly said, "Ya, but I made breakfast for him" implying that his thanksgiving can't be too bad. Hopefully, we were able to make his Thanksgiving a little bit better. I know nothing takes the place of family.

I know I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, but I must tell you again how much I love your son. There will be some real tears when he is transferred out of the area. Your son and Elder Baldes are such a power house companionship. It will be sad next week when Elder Baldes goes home. They have both been so great for each other.  They both got up to bear  their testimonies today and sweet Elder Kershaw got up and talked about the letter your husband sent him, telling him that this years crop of hay is the best you've ever had. There is no doubt in my mind as well that that is a direct blessing from Heavenly Father. Blessings come when we are willing to sacrifice... and in your case, you've sacrificed seeing your sweet son for two years so that he could go out and bless the lives of others. We are all grateful to you and your family for that!

Sincerely,
Ginnie Johnson
