2 weeks of letters from Elder Kershaw

November 18, 2013
Dear family this has been the week of funerals. We had one on saturday, about two hundred black baptists. It was a guy in one of our wards that passed away. He got a blood clot and died, all of his family was baptist and he was a convert to the LDS church. Our bishop gave the best plan of salvation talk I have ever heard. It was very southern black and loud singing it was a cool experience. I have definitely been humbled on my mission with other races of people.
Our baptism got postponed until Tuesday because of a marriage licence, but no big deal I will be the one baptising her. He name is Tabitha Smayda if you could keep her in your prayers. We have a new investigator we are teaching his name is Melvinne, he is a black guy that was baptised a few years ago and went less active but now he is coming back to church and wants his kids baptised. I love that family so much, very poor but the happiest people i've met. The Gallamores are doing great and we visit them often.
Other than that I'm doing good. My companion and I are such good friends and we work well together. I'm good on clothes and shoes for now but I'll let you know if I need something.
Sounds like home is good. Is it cold there yet? I know I was never a big fan, but how is BSU doing this year? I kind of miss BSU football, ha ha ha...
It's crazy that  Myron will be home soon, I bet he is getting excited.
I love yall so much, have a great week.

love always, Elder Kershaw

What is the Plan of Salvation?

The plan of salvation is God’s plan for the happiness of His
children. It is centered on the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
If you will follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, you will find
lasting inner peace in this life and eternal joy after death.
As you learn about the plan of salvation, you will find answers
to these questions:

 “Where did I come from?”
“What is my purpose in life?"
"Where will I go after this life?"

Dear family it has been a good week we have been doing a lot of less active work. It is crazy how people can have the gospel in their life then let it all go for silly reasons.
Sounds like yall are doing good, it is not getting too cold here yet we are working very hard and i get to baptize a lady this weekend. Im looking forward to that. We had dinner at the Atwoods yesterday( the guy that owns the cowboy hat shop) We had deer steaks it was so good! Other than that not too much else I love this gospel and all the blessing it brings in my life. I love yall so much.

Love Elder Kershaw
